Train Rides Admid Brilliant Hues of Fall

There’s nothing comparable to enjoying the beautiful brilliant hues of autumn in the rural Sauk County countryside from the comfort of our restored vintage passenger cars. Join us for “leaf-peeping” in style along the unspoiled right-of-way of our historic former Chicago & North Western rail line.

Schedule

Mid-Continent's Autumn Color event spans two weekends. The first weekend (Oct. 4-5) follows our normal summer season schedule of three trains per day, but also adds a Saturday evening Dinner Train.

The second weekend of Autumn Color trains (Oct. 10-11-12) features a greatly expanded schedule, including Friday departures. During Saturday and Sunday, two seperate trains operate simulataneously. One train offers coach car and caboose seating options while a second train running a limited schedule offers First Class seating. Both trains traverse the same route and both are scheduled for 55-minutes round-trip. An evening Dinner Train is operated on Saturday evening using the First Class cars. Dinner Trains last 2-1/2 to 3 hours.
