NEW - WISCONSIN RAILROAD DATABASE: Check out our new on-line database of Wisconsin's railroads, the single most comprehensive and publicly accessible searchable database of its kind. Though it is still a work in progress, the railroads of Shawano and Bayfield Counties have been completed and are ready to be enjoyed by all. You will find extensive information about all railroads known to have operated in both counties, including right of way maps, equipment lists, and images. Go to the On-Line Archives section and click the link for RAILROADS under DATABASES.
TRAIN OPERATIONS UPDATE: We will not have an operable locomotive until 2009. Please call the office at 1-800-930-1385 to confirm re-opening dates or check back to this page.
We are still working on flood repairs with help from our Flood Relief Fund. If you wish to donate, you may visit our on-line donation form or print a paper form from our Gift page. Subscribe to our e-mail list at left for automated updates.
NEW SOUNDS: Several new recordings of #1385 and #2 have been added to our audio archives. Check them out here.
TRAINS MAGAZINE awarded Mid-Continent a $10,000 Grant. Click here for more info. The grant money will be applied toward the Fish Car campaign.
CHECK OUT the Rolling Stock website, a fantastic resource for historical information, data, photos and more on wooden railroad cars and builders. This is an independent effort on the part of Hayes Hendricks, but compliments our own mission so well, we felt hosting his pages would be a natural fit. Enjoy by starting here!.
SHOP UPDATE: The museum's locomotive shop forces are working on the WC&C #1's running gear and boiler. Shop updates can be seen here.
Check out our BLOG... Museum general manager Don Meyer will update it regularly with the latest happenings at Mid-Continent.
